2003 Challenge Awards go to 69 Kansas schools
The Confidence in Kansas Public Education Task Force has named the recipients of the 2003 Challenge Awards. The Challenge Awards are designed to recognize Kansas schools that are making a significant difference in student achievement despite facing significant challenges in school population.
Sixty-nine Kansas schools received Certificates of Merit at a special ceremony Nov. 12 for having exceeded normal expectations on their assessment results based on the ethnicity and socio-economic status of those taking the test.
